Adult mental health
The adult mental health program at Pinewood Springs offers inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment. Our compassionate mental health specialists are committed to providing you with care that addresses your condition and gives you the tools needed to cope in everyday life.
The programs we offer are based on the belief that mental illness is treatable in a supportive, therapeutic environment. Our team of psychiatrists, licensed therapists, registered nurses, and recreation therapists work together to develop an individualized treatment plan for you.
Inpatient services
Patients at Pinewood Springs will have access to our team of caring staff who will work in collaboration to create a personalized treatment plan. In addition to completing an assessment to determine the level of care needed, our team will develop an individualized plan to address the patient’s unique needs. These tailored plans will include individual and group therapy, as well as a plan for transitioning back to daily life.
Some of the conditions we treat include but are not limited to:
- Mood disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder
- Thought disorders including schizophrenia and disorders with psychotic features
Our programs and therapies are centered around the idea that mental illness is treatable in a therapeutic and supportive environment. Our staff at Pinewood Springs, including physicians, counselors and dieticians are dedicated to working seamlessly together to create an individualized plan for every patient we treat. Our staff will also work with you and your family to help you understand the symptoms of your illness, factors that led to hospitalization, and how to prevent future relapses.

Group therapy approach
In group therapy, patients learn coping skills and healthy ways of managing their symptoms. They are empowered to establish their own goals for recovery to achieve success and happiness. All of our sessions facilitate the recovery process by treating the underlying causes of the emotional and behavioral challenges patients are facing.
Partial hospitalization program (PHP)
The PHP is a comprehensive, short-term outpatient program that typically lasts three weeks and provides individualized treatment approaches for behavior health in the form of group therapy and medication management for 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. It provides support and treatment for adults facing emotional or mental difficulties. The purpose of the PHP is to help stabilize, reduce and manage severe behavioral health symptoms connected, but not limited to, anxiety disorders, mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorders. A broad range of treatment services are offered to help individualize each client’s treatment plan:
- Art therapy
- Group therapy
- Individual therapy as needed
- Medication management
- Music therapy
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Recreation therapy
The program offers all of the features of inpatient care but without the overnight hospital stay. The structured format provides physician oversight as well as therapeutic groups and activities.
Because patients are able to return home in the evening, they stay linked to their family and community and can practice new skills that promote confidence and independence.
